A local rose garden
My husband, daughter, and I visited this rose garden today. We were the only ones there, so had it all to ourselves.
The unusual thing about it is that it is maintained by the inmates of the county jail. (Not my county, Jefferson County.) It does not use taxpayer money; contains more than 400 varieties of roses; is built on the site of a former landfill; and is the only public, inmate run rose garden in the U.S.A.
There was even this nice big hill
for rolling down. Her dad talked
her into it.
