Those daring young (and not young) men (and women) on the flying trapeze...

Last night, we went to watch The Imperial Flyers, a free amateur trapeze show.   What fun!

The flyers ranged from their teens to their late 60's.  The beginners wore safety harnesses.

We all loved it.

It took place, literally, in someone's backyard.
Yes, this trapeze is permanently set up in their backyard.

The spectators bring their own lawn chairs.

There was free cotton candy and popcorn.  Also, jugglers and fire twirlers (there is a real name for this - maybe my son will remember it and share).

There are several different sorts of fire twirlers, I think the ones with the flaming balls at the ends of ropes were refered to as demonstrating a Hawaiian art known as 'poi poi'(spelling guessed).

But the hula hoops were nothing I'd ever seen before, and the staff looked like some relatively simple martial arts stuff.

In their backyard?! How cool!!! That would be so much fun to watch. I think I would be a little nervous watching the 60 year old. Yikes!

We saw an awesome fire twirler over the summer - he had a hula hoop, too. Very cool. No idea what you call those guys. He did many tricks I'd not seen with fire.

Flying trapeze....must not show the boys. A certain young someone might get some crazy ideas, LOL.

I guess there is no home owners assoc where they are!!! I can't imagine having that huge thing in the backyard : )
You got some really cool shots, I love the sky/clouds behind their silhouettes !

What a cool thing to have in your back yard. Wonder about insurance tho'.

We got to see fire twirlers and eaters last year - amazing skills.

Wow! That kind of beats out the ol' backyard trampoline! I'm scared of heights so could never, ever do this, but admire those greatly that can!
