365/24 Smiley

Fluorescent lighting + wiggly baby = I need to figure out how to shoot on manual.
All the best smiles are blurred, because she wiggles when she's happy,
and the fluorescent lighting is so bright, many of the shots are washed out.
Hints?
I know how to set the white balance for flourescent; it's all the other choices that overwhelm me.

I cheat with moving children and birds, I use my sports setting...

Oh my gosh, she's so adorable! As to tips - you want a fast shutter speed and probably as wide open an aperture as your camera can handle. Although I'm far from professional, so someone else may have better input for you.

I use photoshop after the picture. (And I take like a bizillion pictures). It is the only thing I have found that works every time. This picture is really good. I love the smile, and I can almost see the wiggles!

She wriggles when she smiles. That is so cute! Maybe capturing the wiggle in her smile is okay?? :)

Browse around her site a little, she has 30 days to better photos, I learned a lot.

To start of with, maybe you can bump the ISO, the higher the number the more you can take movement.

Yet you still got the baby looking so cute, it is what counts!

I think this is an adorable picture!!! It is very hard to get "perfect" pictures when they are this age. The kicking of the legs and the moving of the hands is just priceless. If I were to have any valuable input..which I probably don't really have a clue..I would have to say fast shutter speed. If the picture has to be a little dark for that you can PS it later. A blurred smile would be fine with me though because it would remind me of how she once was. :)

She's a cute wiggly baby. I've done what Dianne suggested fast shutter speed, high aperture. I've also shot a few in auto before and then looked at the settings it used and applied them to manual mode, then tweaked it some.
